  • At Santa Luz, homeowners are within 1.3 miles of the Gateway Charter School and Gateway Charter High School that provide tuition-free education for grades K-8 and 9-12.  Gateway Charter earned an “A” grade and Gateway Charter High School and “A+” from the Florida Department of Education. Lee County Public Schools have an open-enrollment system where parents select from among a variety of schools close to where they live.  At Gateway parents can select from a total of 16 elementary schools, six middle schools, and four high schools.

  • Florida SouthWestern State College (also referred to as FSW or Florida SouthWestern) is a state college in Southwest Florida. It was founded in 1962 as Edison Junior College and was named for Thomas Edison until the college was renamed FSW in 2014. The college has its main campus in Fort Myers in Lee County, satellite campuses in Charlotte and Collier counties, and outreach programs in Hendry and Glades counties. 

  • Florida Gulf Coast University (commonly referred to as FGCU) is a public comprehensive university located just south of the Southwest Florida International Airport in unincorporated Lee County, Florida. The university belongs to the 12-campus State University System of Florida. FGCU competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference in NCAA Division I sports and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associates, 51 different types of bachelor's, 29 different masters, and 6 types of doctoral degrees.

In addition to hosting Florida Everblades hockey, Southwest Florida’s premier entertainment venue offers a wide variety of choice entertainment. Since the arena opened in 1998, it has hosted NHL, NBA, USBL, and Arena football games.

Germain Arena has also hosted more than 300 different entertainment events such as Stars on Ice, Disney On Ice, Boston Pops and Lord of the Dance along with headline concerts including Cher, Elton John, and Alan Jackson. The arena also includes Breakaway Sports Pub, a restaurant

Fenway South provides state-of-the-art training facilities positioned on a single site and is intended to be used year-round. It will include JetBlue Park, the main ballpark with a total capacity of approximately 11,000 fans (including standing room and berm), six practice fields, and other adjoining facilities that will house both the Major and Minor League operations and a rehabilitation center.

Santa Luz is within a short drive to a wide array of shopping opportunities. Probably the most popular spot among Gateway residents is the Gulf Coast Town Center. The center features casual and upscale restaurants, as well as shopping that includes 20 anchor stores, 80 specialty shops, 30 eateries and Regal Cinema .

The centerpiece of the 80-acre Lee County Sports Complex, Hammond Stadium is well known for its appealing exterior designed to evoke comparisons to Churchill Downs.  The most notable example of that inspiration is the spire-topped staircase attached to the left edge of a facade that is both tall and beige.

The walk towards that facade is a scenic one, as fans approach Hammond Stadium via palm tree lined paths that lead to an attractive waterfall fountain near the stadium's entrance, where water cascades down an outer wall into a retention pool reminiscent of a wishing well. 

2015 Spring Training marks the fourth season of JetBlue Park at Fenway South, the Spring Training ballpark and adjoining Player Development Complex for the Boston Red Sox in Lee County, Florida.

A number of the characteristics of the ballpark are taken from Fenway Park, including a "Green Monster" and a manual scoreboard. The complex captures elements of Southwest Florida, including seashells within its brick foundation and the architecture of the white roof, mimicking cypress trees in the distance.

Santa Luz is also close to cultural and dining centers, casino, sports venues, and excellent health care facilities, and is within easy access to Interstate 75, and minutes to (RSW) Southwest Florida International Airport. 

Schools, Colleges & Universities

Germain Arena is a centrally located facility with a seating capacity of approximately 7,000 for most events. The facility is just minutes from Santa Luz off of I-75 at Exit 123 in the growing Southwest Florida community of Estero.

The Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall is the premier place for Broadway musicals in Fort Myers. Located on the Edison Community College campus, it's the tallest building on campus, and the only theater in the area with the size and technology to host musicals as well as rock and jazz concerts. The Hall is also the home of the Southwest Florida Symphony from December through April. Inside boasts two glass elevators, and infrared headsets for the hearing impaired. 

With its distinct architecture and usage of tall royal palms and cascading water as focal points, the winter home of the Minnesota Twins has an exterior that can't be matched at any other ballpark in the Grapefruit League.

The complex is easily accessed from Six Mile Cypress Parkway, and located just 7 1/2 miles from Santa Luz.

Located in the heart of Southwest Florida, Santa Luz is close to sandy white beaches, and many outdoor activities including boating, fishing, nature preserves, parks, bike and fitness trails. The new Jet Blue Red Sox Stadium a short bike ride away; and the Minnesota Twins Stadium is just a few minutes' drive.  Shopping at its best is available at nearby Gulf Coast Town Center, Bell Tower
